Khago looks forward to performing at Lovefest show
After a successful series of shows in the United States, international recording star Khago is looking forward to performing at the annual Lovefest show in St Lucia this weekend.
"I am going there to give a great performance for the people of St. Lucia. My heart goes out to them because of the recent tragedy where 17 people died in that bus accident, so mi ah try help them with the healing. To get over something like that is not easy, losing so many people one time on a small island like that...mi feel dem pain," Khago said in a release.
The Nah Sell Out Mi Friend Dem singjay just returned to Jamaica earlier this week after a three-week stint in the United States that saw him performing on more than 10 shows in five different states.
"It was a successful tour, most of the shows really worked out well, especially the Boston Hot 97show. Some of them were only promotional shows, others were booked, but only one had a poor turnout.
"Overall, it was a good experience, I got a chance to perform at Mavado's birthday bash in Brooklyn, that was great as well, and on Sunday night I did a show with Sanchez in Mount Vernon, New York for Fifth Element promotions, and I got a lot of love from the fans. I also did a lot of radio interviews. I am looking forward to more shows in the US next year," he said.
In the meantime, the deejay's Blood A Boil hit continues to hold the number-one spot on the HYPE TV charts while his Gal Dem Tun Up Mi Ting hit holds strong in the top five of the ER dancehall charts and the FIWI Choice Top ten charts.
After a successful 2011, Khago is looking to give back to the less fortunate by establishing a charity foundation for kids. The singjay will also be establishing the Ricardo Gayle Education Foundation in January to provide educational assistance and educational equipment for primary school-age kids.
"God has blessed me so that I can provide for my family, so I want to pass on the blessing to other people ... poor people in Jamaica are hurting right now, so we are going to put in the required paperwork and start it in January, and then I will be keeping a number of fund-raising concerts, and using my own money to help these children get to where they need to be," he said in a the release.
