Main witness testifies in Vybz Kartel case

The prosecution’s main witness in the case in the murder case involving embattled Dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and his four co-accused, who were charged for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams gave chilling testimony today. Lamar Chow testified that he and Williams were taken inside a room, at Vybz Kartel's home in Havendale, where they held Williams, however Chow stated that he ran into a back room and sealed it, as he feared what would happen to him. The witness stated that the door was then forced open by Kartel and Shawn Storm, and he was assured by Kartel that “everything good”, as the entertainer held him by his neck. He testified that he saw Williams on the ground and two persons were over him, one with a concrete block. Chow then explained that he then managed to wriggle himself out of Kartel’s grasp, ran through a gate and jumped a second gate in a bid to escape. The witness added that as he was running, he saw Kartel behind him complaining that a dog had bitten him. Chow added that they managed to get a taxi and they went to the Andrew’s Memorial Hospital, where Kartel was treated. The witness in his testimony claimed that he called Williams’ cellphone following the incident at Vybz Kartel's home, but the call went straight to voicemail. The main witness for the prosecution will continue his testimony tomorrow at 1 pm.
