Mavado will enter the New Year battling his ongoing legal troubles.

Vado, who was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm following a shooting incident which resulted in the death of his friend at Bounty Killa’s party in June this year, is to return to court on May 16, 2012.

The dancehall singjay and his attorney, Tameka Harris were present in court this morning. Tameka Harris tells Music News that she’s baffled by the justice system. She explains.

All this stems from an incident where Conroy Edwards AKA Connie was shot in the abdomen by an alleged off duty policeman in the wee hours on June 13, 2011. Connie succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Kingston Public Hospital.

Mavado has since expressed that he narrowly escaped death hinting that the bullet fired on the night of the incident was intended for him.
