Despite what seems like a response to Twin of Twins, dancehall artiste and selector Tony Matterhorn says his song Send Dem Home is not about them.
About two weeks ago, Matterhorn released the song that seemed like a response to Twin of Twins' song called Lucky Boy. In the song they questioned the selector's victory at the Sting clash in December.
But in his recent song, Matterhorn says, "None a dem nuh bad like Madgie/ Ova Jamworld everybody see Matterhorn stand alone mi nuh need company/ Who nuh rate mi, mi nuh response fi dem/ Mi send duppy to the cemetery."
Although he makes reference to the clash between them, Matterhorn said the song is a general one.
a reference
"Mi nuh respond to dem, mi just do a song. When mi a beat, mi just beat dem bad. Mi just mek a reference to what happened at Jamworld. It's general. Mi just do one line. If mi ago beat dem, mi a give dem a whole song. Mi nuh ready fi beat dem again. By June mi just start back war," he told THE STAR.
"If I am going to launch an attack, mi just launch an attack. Mi wouldn't do it under style. Dem nuh haffi wonder if mi a fire bullet after dem. A me do Dancehall Duppy. But I might just throw them a bone again."
By the start of summer Matterhorn said he will evaluate the music industry and do songs based on what he believes is desired.
"Mi a watch the business and see what it needs. If it needs war, I will give them war or if it needs a happy song, I will give dem," he said.
But for now Matterhorn said his eyes are elsewhere, as he will be hosting one of his five birthday parties at Waves Beach in Portmore on Sunday. He noted that he will also have birthday parties on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia, and Saturday in Tampa, Florida. The following weekend, he will host one in New York and another in Miami.
many fans
Matterhorn said he decided to have five parties because "I have so many fans. The parties in the States, people a bawl for the parties in their cities."
As for the series of parties, he said it is a family celebration because his mother, brothers, son and daughter are celebrating their birthdays this month.
But on Sunday, he said he is promising fans and friends a fun-filled event.
"The beach one in Jamaica last year was really outrageous and spectacular. Wi just know seh a pure female juggling for most of the night. It's going to be a fun event. This beach party has 90 per cent females," he told THE STAR.
In addition to the parties, he said he is also looking forward to the World Clash R.E.S.E.T scheduled for April 7 at Amazura in Queens, New York. He also has recent releases like Nah Chat Mi Fren, Let Mi Touch You and We Came.
