Former 100m world record holder Asafa Powell was a third place finisher in his first competitive race since being cleared by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Powell, who ran from lane 4 in heat 3 of the men’s 100 meters time final at the IAAF Permit Meeting in Switzerland, posted 10.30 seconds - the same time as Keston Bledman from Trinidad and Tobago.
The event was however won by another Jamaican, Julian Forte in 10.24 seconds with second place going to Antoine Adams of St. Kitts and Nevis who ran 10.29 seconds. Kymarley Brown - the fastest Jamaican so far this year over 100m - was 8th in a time of 10.57 seconds.
Forte despite winning the heat was second overall in the time final behind Kemar Hyman of the Cayman Islands who earlier ran 10.23 seconds while Powell was 4th overall.
Action in heat two also saw Andrew Fisher placing 3rd in 10.33 seconds for 7th overall and Michael Frater ending 16th overall after doing 10.44 seconds to finish 7th in that race.
Over in the women’s equivalent, Schillonie Calvert clocked 11.32 seconds to take 3rd in heat two and third overall while Sherone Simpson had the 8th fastest time overall after running 11.57 seconds to end 7th in heat two.
