Raine Seville to march for abused children

Singer Raine Seville is among public figures who will partake in today's Help Jamaica Children road march and rally, which protests against child abuse and molestation.

The event, which will run from noon to 6 p.m., from the Bustamante Hospital for Children to Emancipation Park, stems from a newspaper article published on April 1 about Jamaican children being molested in their homes by adult predators.

Along with dancehall artiste Raine Seville, a wide range of persons have been invited to join the march and rally. Representatives will be from political parties, children services, civil society, parents, entertainers and others.

"We are protesting against child molestation. After reading a very horrific newspaper article recently, I felt moved," said Raine Seville.

The Raine Seville-inspired Play Your Part medley, which features top artistes such as Bounty Killer, Konshens, Voicemail, Chevaughn, Red Rat, Omari, Cherine, Beres Brown and Marlon Binns, will be the theme song for the Help Jamaica Children campaign.

More than 500 persons have already signed up to participate in the march. however, the singer said she would like to see every Jamaican come out and support the fight against this monster.

"We will appreciate whatever support. I would love to see a roadblock. It's the only way to win the war against child molestation," she said.
