THERE is good news for patrons attending this year's staging of the annual one-night reggae festival, Sting.

The organisers have announced that ticket prices have been reduced by up to 20 per cent when compared to last year's fees.

Pre-sold ticket have decreased by $200 to $1,800 compared to last year's price tag of $2,000. Persons using the VIP entrance will enjoy a decrease of $1,000 as tickets are $5,000 each. Patrons purchasing tickets at the gate, will pay $2,000 as against last year's $2,500.

According to Sting promoter Isaiah Laing, the decision was made due to the economic the hardship Jamaica is experiencing.

"We know that accumulating cash is difficult and this year, we really want to allow everyone to get the Sting experience. So, this is our treat to the patrons. Sting supporters are lovers of lyrical clashes, so we are giving them the opportunity to see their favourite acts live in action," Laing told the Observer.

The 28th staging of the show dubbed as the greatest one night reggae show on earth, is scheduled for the Jamworld Entertainment Complex in Portmore, St Catherine on Monday, December 26.

The year's clashes include dancehall selector-cum-artiste Tony Matterhorn and Twin of Twins; and, Kiprich and Merciless.
