Dancehall dancer Shelly Belly believes Stone Love recently gave Ding Dong an award out of pity. According to the dancer, who controversially shared the Stone Love award for best international male dancer with Ding Dong, the trophy really belongs to him (Shelly Belly).

"Dem sey a me and Ding Dong fi share the trophy, but a my name alone on it, plus a me a tour the world last year," he said.

According to Shelly Belly, the Stone Love organisers did not want Ding Dong to feel upset, therefore they announced that the trophy was to be shared with him.

"A man fi get him due when him deserve it because Ding Dong was not visible last year. I just think Stone Love nuh want it look too bad pon him, that is why dem mention him name," he said.

Shelly Belly disclosed that some dancers are not dancing to earn respect, and seek to compensate for it by bragging on the microphone.

"Some man fi dance fi dem glory if dem a dancer, dem a hol' mike and a try talk fi get glory, a dance yu fi dance, a suh mi duh my thing," he said.

The dancer maintained that he and Ding Dong are not in any feud, however, he will not be sharing his trophy.

"Me and Ding Dong neva use to 'gree, but now wi cool. However this trophy belongs to me. A my name deh pon it, so this trophy will not be going anywhere, a mi and Bermuda Squad a keep this," he said.

The STAR made several unsuccessful attempts to get a comment form Ding Ding.

However, according to Strength, a member of Ding Dong's Ravers Clavers dance crew, "We expected to win the award because wi confident in our fans and whatever we do. Wi haffi guh duh some research into the issue with the trophy because wi nuh sure what happen with dat all now," he said.

Shelly Belly is slated to perform in New York in upcoming weeks and will celebrate his birthday in Bermuda this year.

"Thanks to Macka Diamond, Ice Man, Racoon, Echo, Energy, Lugz and Bone Crusher, even Ding Dong because him help hold up dancing when Bogle gone, but a man must get him glory," he reiterated.
