In what was his first performance at Club Cali in Trelawny last week, singjay Mavado showed just why the world is fast latching on to him and his music.

The self-proclaimed 'Gully Gaad' delivered a superb performance in front of a large gathering, which had earlier braved the journey from far and wide to witness their 'Star Boy' live in action.

When the singjay, born David Brooks, took to the stage minutes after 4 a.m., patrons were still recovering from a musical blast, which came from selectors Dexter Pepper and the Hitz 92 FM crew, Rodrick Howell, Izahbing, DJ Tropical, Crawb Up Genius, and DJ Junior.

However, Mavado, who was later joined onstage by female artiste Raine Seville, went into his catalogue of hit songs one by one, throwing the Trelawny crowd into a frenzy.

Mavado started off his segment with Dem No Bad but quickly shifted his attention to the females singing Destiny,Gyal Wine, One by One and Every Gyal, which features American rapper Chipmunk.

He stopped midway his performance and then invited Raine Seville to perform Cheating Games with him. It was well received.

With each song, the crowd gave a loud uproar, showing its approval. Some females even threatened to haul the singer off the stage, grabbing on to his jeans as he interacted with them.

Mavado left the stage to resounding applause. He was later bombarded backstage by patrons determined to meet and greet him while taking photos.
