Sizzla fined $1,000 after confrontation with cops

Resident Magistrate Jannef Anderson yesterday fined entertainer Sizzla, born Miguel Collins, $1,000, after the artiste pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a confrontation with the Yallahs police earlier this month.

Sizzla was performing at a nightclub in Yallahs, St Thomas, when lawmen turned off the music. The singer allegedly turned the music on again after verbally abusing the cops, at which point they seized the sound equipment.

Sizzla was served with a summons to appear in the Yallahs Resident Magistrate's Court when he went to the Yallahs Police Station to collect the equipment the following day. He was charged with using indecent language.
