Sizzla returns to the stage - Set to give live, unplugged performance

After six months off the entertainment circuit, Sizzla Kalonji is set to return for what is being dubbed as the 'event of the century' on Sunday, March 18, at Club Privilege.

Florida-based Whirlwind Entertainment Group has teamed up with the artiste to present an intimate and historic event, Sizzla Unplugged and Acoustics.

According to Keecha Hamilton, production manager, "We want the event to resonate well with concert goers who have been craving more live, unplugged performances in a safe and fun environment. The event will symbolise and celebrate the return of Kalonji as he connects with his audience in a no rush, intimate setting. In addition, the concert is in aid of a cause very near and dear to the heart of Kalonji who survived a near fatal accident six months ago," she enthusiastically stated.

The day of the week was carefully selected to provide the easy going vibration associated with an unplugged session. On Sunday night, the space at Club Privilege will be transformed into a tranquil setting, thereby creating the right balance of intimacy and positive vibration for Sizzla. His superb catalogue will provide hit after hit, and give fans and supporters a bestowal of 'love and honour'.

The veteran artiste known primarily for performing only his conscious-minded lyrics has teamed up with the legendary Sly and Robbie and Jamaica's violin sensation Jessica Yap. The After Party will feature live performance and hosting by Popcaan.

The charity-powered event will provide part proceeds to provide medical support for a child in dire need of life saving surgery. After his near death experience, Kalonji was reminded of the struggles of the poor who do not have access to proper health care infrastructure and facilities. Accordingly, he is determined to give back with his return performance through the Rasta for Life Movement.

Entry fee for this exclusive event will be as follows: VIP entry by invitation only (see facebook page), pre-sold $2,000; $2,500 at the gate. Limited early bird tickets are available for $1,500 before March 11. Doors open at 7 p.m., and showtime is at 8 p.m.
