Stacious hosts new radio programme

Dancehall artiste Stacious has now branched out into hosting. 'The Gangstress' now hosts a two-hour programme called 'Talk' on Newstalk 93FM radio station. According to the artiste, it was her controversial song of the same name that helped her to nab the gig.

"The show was derived from a song that I did called Talk in which I voiced my opinions. Everybody knows that I am a very outspoken person. I have done interviews before where I had said that if I wasn't doing music, then I would be doing something in media, so the radio station contacted me and I did my first show last week," Stacious told THE STAR.

The programme premiered last Thursday between 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. According to Stacious, the aim of the programme is to tackle taboo and controversial topics that many persons may be wondering about.

"We have varying topics. We tackle the topics that persons may have in the back of their minds but they don't have a medium to get the answers. Last week we discussed the double standards that exist in Jamaica and how many persons are hitting out against gays but are more accepting of lesbians," she said.

Stacious went on to say that the feedback so far has been overwhelming and fans have been calling and texting into the programme to give their views on the topic.

"I never expected it. The phone line kept going off and the text line was full. I got a very good response. I was surprised. Trust me, I couldn't ask for more," Stacious said.

The artiste said fans can tune in this Thursday at 9 p.m., when herself along with guest Pamputtae will discuss the topic of size and whether it matters or not.
