Added to their calendar of events leading up to the big night is 'Face-Off Wednesdays'. A weekly lyrical confrontation between upcoming artistes at Club Riddim in New Kingston.

Last Monday and Friday, Club Riddim welcomed many upcoming artistes who came armed with lyrical ammunition to prove to the judges that they should earn a spot on Sting's stage on December 26.

Among the lyrical batch of artistes was Magnum Kings of Queeens contestant Yabalicious who lit the lyrical flame while battling with the fierce Tassy Wassy who fired hard hitting lyrics.

Sashay,Samarai and JBlunt also sparked setting the tone for Face-Off Wednesdays.

From the turnout, judges Heavy D, Lady Rennae and Calvin Hunter had the task of choosing the best 64 from the lyrical pack which will face off each Wednesday until December 21. Each week one or two contestants will be voted off with the help of the patrons and celebrity judges.

At the auditions last week, Black Ryno and raving sensation Popcaan were in attendance supporting upcoming talents.

The lyrical battle is set to start this Wednesday at Club Riddim at 11 p.m. and will attract a cover charge of $500 for men and ladies free before 11 p.m. A celebrity guest is expected to perform each week.
