Love was in the air on Saturday after reggae act Singing Melody and R&B star Freddie Jackson treated fans to a night of soulful performances .
Both artistes were the featured acts at the Caribbean Model Search concert held at the Pulse Centre in New Kingston.
It was approximately 9:50pm when opening act Singing Melody entered centerstage.
He wasted no time diving into the gospel hit Let It Be to "bless the place". He clearly had no intentions of disappointing his fans and utilised his powerful vocals on songs including Shower Me With Your Love, Let It Flow, Say What and Your My Inspiration. Not only did the audience applaud, but couples drew closer together, some stealing a kiss as the singer took them on a romantic musical journey.
Melody was not only in the mood for singing but also showed his comedic side as he cracked a few jokes with his patrons in between performances. His string of hits continued with Collide, Just As I Am, I Want You Back to name a few. It was 10:49pm when Melody made his exit making way for the main act Freddie Jackson.
After such tantalising performance, the mood dampened somewhat as patrons had to wait another 25 minutes before Jackson's voice emerged over the microphone. Suited in black and white the artiste commenced his performance with When I Fall In Love.
"I'm glad to be here in Kingston, Jamaica. I remember the first time I was here with Melba Moore in 1982... I'm not old though," he jokingly told his audience, before thrilling his fans with the lyrics to another of his hit Tasty Love.
During this performance, Jackson was flanked by several of the CMS models who all took turns to dance with the R&B star. "My my look at those long legs, wish I could stay in Jamaica" he said to which the audience applauded. Me and Mrs Jones, I Could use a little Love Right Now, Just A Little Bit More, You are My Lady, were just a few from the many love songs that followed as Jackson captivated the more than 250 patrons inside the venue. Throughout his performance the R&B crooner constantly interacted with his audience especially the females. One lucky lady even got a chance to get up close, after being invited to wipe the sweat from his brow. The romantic mood heightened as Jackson sang the lyrics to his single that topped the charts for 28 weeks - Rock Me Tonight. For almost five minutes the patrons were on their feet in a sing-along. Once again couples held each other tightly while singles waved their hands, showing their appreciation.
It was close to midnight when patrons started making their way to the exit signalling an end to what was a great evening of music.
