With the start of the new school year fast approaching, dancehall artiste Tanto Black is playing his part in giving back to his community.
The artiste is gearing up for his upcoming event which will also incorporate a back-to-school treat .
The event titled 'Full Moon Over The Roof' is scheduled for Saturday, September 1, at Old Harbour Road in St Catherine.
The event which is sponsored by LIME, Magnum Tonic Wine and Solid Agency will be the first of its kind for the popular entertainer.
"Mi a gi way books, pens, pencils and school bags. From mi enter Magnum Kings and Queens competition, mi a walk and beg people fi help me. The people dem always a support me because dem love Tanto Blacks, so now a my time to help them," he told THE STAR.
The former Magnum Kings and Queen contestant says that although the event is geared towards assisting parents with their back-to-school needs, there are also plans to treat the adults of the community.
"Well fi di elders mi a give way flashlights, LIME phonecards and some LIME phones, we haffi support all a di people dem who did support Tanto Blacks," he said.
There will also be refreshments on sale and live entertainment will be provided.
In the meantime, Tanto Blacks is gearing up for the release of his new single Loving It, which will be released in September.
