On Valentine's Day when most people will be busy with their significant other, some sex workers in the Corporate Area will be sharing in the moment by offering significantly reduced prices for services offered, THE STAR has learnt.

In advertisements placed in local newspapers, several sex workers at massage parlours claim they have slashed their prices to as low as $500 for Valentine's Day.

The advertisements also claim that they would be offering two girls for $1,000 for clients who arrive during 'early' hours, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Calls by our investigative team to the advertised numbers for some the massage parlours revealed that the 'therapists' have been getting quite a bit of attention because of their advertisements.

THE STAR understands that since the 'special package' was advertised, numerous clients have shown interest in making good use of the bargain price.

Meanwhile, when THE STAR spoke to the police about the openly advertised services, an officer in the St Andrew Central police revealed that it is difficult to deal with the sex workers.

A police source who commented on the condition of anonymity, told THE STAR that, "when it comes to sex ... it is a very complicated matter."

When quizzed if the police had made attempts to shut down such establishments, he admitted that such efforts have been made but with struggles.

"There has been such effort but it is rather difficult. Someone has to come forward and say definitely that they have bought sex from a person for action to be taken," he emphasised.

Furthermore, he pointed out, "They are to get a particular licence to operate. All persons offering massage or therapy are to be licensed because they can cause persons harm."
