Is the war over? - Merciless still out for revenge

Despite the emergence of a new song which seems aimed at embarrassing Merciless, dancehall artiste KipRich says the 'war' between himself and Merciless is over.

KipRich's Warn Dem Again and Merciless' Me Name Merciless, both on DJ Sunshine's Saucey Head rhythm, surfaced on YouTube less than two weeks ago.

Without calling any names, KipRich seemingly throws words at Merciless.

Merciless, on the other hand, held nothing back. "KipRich caan tell mi nutten bout gunman... From him small him nuh go home till nyamming time/ Him breakfast and dinner him love in bed," sings Merciless, in the song, which also has lyrics insulting Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Twin of Twins and Tony Matterhorn.

But when contacted by THE STAR, KipRich said the 'war' between them ended after he demolished Merciless during their clash at Sting on December 26.

"Mi done wid him, da song deh do before Sting. It just come out after. To how it sound it woulda sound like it do after. But as far as him go, mi park him. Mi done wid him," KipRich said.

However, Merciless isn't quite done.

"Anyweh mi buck him a war same way. Memba a me name 'nah fren dem'. Sting was just rumours of war. Di world done know seh dem likkle yute deh cyaah war mi. Dem nuh competent fi my type a war, so mi jus' lowe him mek him gwaan chat up him mouth. Anywhere mi see him, mi a dust him out lyrically," he told THE STAR.

Meanwhile, KipRich said his focus is on music. He said he recently shot the music videos for Nuh Bruk Di Law, produced by Stephen McGregor and Fi Clean for young producer Markus Myrie. He said the treatment for Party Liad has been done and the music video will be shot soon.

In addition, "is pure work. Mi have a whole heap a rhythm weh mi a record pon. Mi have some exclusives with Stephen McGregor and I am also on Seanizzle's Wet Up rhythm that will be released soon," he said.

KipRich said he has also recently released songs like ADis A Gwaan, a collaboration with Potential Kidd, who is known for his song A Yah So Nice, and Bagga Chat on the Symphony rhythm.

Performing in Ghana immediately after his clash at Sting, KipRich says he also has other shows lined up in Canada, United States, and Grenada.
