The controversial duo Twin of Twins is releasing the 10th instalment of their highly anticipated Stir It Up series. This volume offers the same twist, as is customary for the twins, to change concepts to avoid being monotonous and preserve the shock value.
Stir It Up Vol 10, once again in true Twin of Twins fashion, gives the listener a chance not only to be entertained but also to be enlightened. The storyline is semi-fictitious and offers their creative and witty insight reflected in their social commentary.
The story unfolds with real and fictitious characters being incarcerated within the Jamaican penal system, the Twins said.
"Characters like Vybz Kartel, Ankle Socks, Big Wayne, Mavado, Popcorn, Arthritis and Jah Mikes are among the characters who we combine and use to effectively communicate the effect of the economic and political climate in Jamaica and how it culminates in the disenfranchised and impoverished youth becoming disillusioned and despondent."
"Overall, it is a bittersweet story of injustice, sweetened with unbridled humour, also an accurate portrayal of the social imbalance that plagues our society," said Patrick 'Curly Lox' Gaynor, one half of the duo.
The Stir It Up Vol.10 entitled Locked Up A Yard is scheduled to be released today (April 20) at The Village Blues Bar, Barbican.
"We know nuff people ago burn it, but mi a encourage the I dem fi come support us tonight. When yuh pay come in yuh get the CD, a poster, and live performances from Twin of Twins and friends. People like Javincci, D'Angel, Flippa Mafia, Mr Easy, A.N.G and many more will be there," said Curly Lox.
